Online Battle[edit | edit source]

Online battle comes in two flavors: 気軽にバトル(Casual Battle) & 本気でバトル(Ranked Battle)

  • 気軽にバトル(Casual Battle): Play for fun. You can be matched with anyone.
  • 本気でバトル(Ranked Battle): Every match will effect your rank. You will be matched with people around your rank/tier.

3/27/2023 Update:

You are now unable to select between casual or ranked battle.

When ranked season is active, all online battles will be Ranked.

(A rainbow colored banner below the Online Battle button indicates that Ranked season is active! Check the official news to see how long ranked season lasts)

Lobby[edit | edit source]

After selecting Casual or Ranked you'll be yeeted right into the matchmaking lobby. You'll see the BOMBERGIRL SELECT screen first... but matching making will still be occurring in the background...

Pick yo Bombergirl and slap that pink "判定"(Confirm) button to pop into the match making lobby.

And now... you wait. Here in the lobby you'll be able to adjust your skill/chat voice loadout, peek at a tips & tricks or change your Bombergirl with the buttons in the upper right.

  • Skills(スキル) Green
  • Chat voice(チャットボイス) Yellow
  • Guide/Tip & tricks(知恵袋) Orange-ish
  • Return to Bombergirl selection(ガール選択ヘ戻る) Orange

Adjusting your Skills and chat voice loadout will be the same as in the locker room, so refer back Menu guide for skills or chat voice page for chat voices

Note: Instead of confirming, you just click the X button in the upper right of the skill/chat voice window to finalize your changes.

When a large yellow window with: "マッチングが完了しました! しばらくお待ちください" on it appears. It means matchmaking is complete. Please wait for the lobby to populate.

Note: If someone disconnects during this process(or before the match starts), the whole lobby will be kicked out to the Mode Select screen.

(This was a "feature" added during the olive update(2022/4/25...)

The lobby is filled! Make sure to say よろしく(Nice to meet you) ;3

If anyone immediately confirms their characters selection (Large pink OK next to their Player name), they might be a Bot...

On the left is your team, on the right is the enemy team.

In the middle, below the timer, is the map/stage you'll be playing on.

If this is a RANKED match you'll see the team rank averages[(味方/敵)チームの平均レート] to the left and right of the map/stage.

As the time ticks down, you'll be able to adjust your team's composition/psych out the enemy.

suggestions:

  • Adjust your team's composition to be more viable. I'd recommend having at least one BLOCKER on your team. A standard party tends to have one of each: BOMBER, ATTACKER, SHOOTER, BLOCKER. But if you feeling spicy you can always go for weird party balance to counter your opponents plan/strategy. A common Alternative party make up is Double-ATTACKER, SHOOTER, BLOCKER.
  • Change your character to counter an opponent's pick.
  • Change your character at the last second. (this sorta plays into the above 2 bullet points) Just make sure you are willing to face the consequences of your actions....
  • Use chat voice to pump up your team or psych out your enemies. Note that spamming chat voice too much might annoy your team, causing the opposite to happen...

When you think you're ready, press the pink 準備完了(Ready) in the lower right to lock in your decision. You won't be able to undo this.

In-Battle Interface[edit | edit source]

You've finally reached the battle! I won't really explain how to play here, but I will tell you the menu translations~

the orange バースに帰還(return to base) in the upper left will return you to your base. (You can also use your assigned hotkey. By default it's the delete key)

  • Takes a full 3 seconds to return to base. If you get interrupted, your return will be canceled.
  • You will recover all of your health after returning to base this way.
  • "Return to base" function will only take you back to your base. (You can only respawn at the midway point after death)

The yellow マップ拡大(Map enlargement) in the upper right will enlarge/shrink your minimap. (you can also use your assigned hotkey. By default it's the pagedown key)

In the Lower right, you'll see a row of 3 icons and red long button above it. of the 3 icons, the Left most ボム(bomb) button will let you know how many bombs you are able to place at that moment, and the 2 buttons to the right of that are your "Skill 1" and "skill 2" keys.

These 2 buttons will relay important information such as:

  • Team lv. requirement. Example: "LV.4で解禁" would indicate that your skill would be available to use after your team hits lvl 4.
  • Remaining cooldown.

Above those 3 icons is the long red スキル入れ替え(Skill replace) button. Clicking this will slide out your Sub-skill menu. Select a sub skill above the skill key you wish to replace. Else click the now orange 閉じる(close) button to slide this menu closed.

Do note that swapping out a skill mid-battle will incur a cooldown penalty, so make sure to swap at a wise time!

By default the chat voice buttons will automatically hide after mouse inactivity. So to make it pop back up, wiggle your mouse. (Alternatively you can change your mouse auto-hide settings at the title screen>settings menu.)

Total Results[edit | edit source]

After the match finishes, you'll get to see how everyone on your team did. Do note that you should probably only compare scores of peeps of the same type, as certain character types/ roles have lower or higher scoring potentials.

Usually:

  • BOMBERS(Offence) score the highest (around 2-3.5k), because enemy base damage gives a lot of score.
  • BLOCKERS(Defence) tend to score the 2nd highest(around 2k). Generating blocks tends to give a lot of score. Exception: Grim Aloe. Converting bombs into blocks unfortunately doesn't rack up a lot of points :C
  • ATTACKERS(Offence) tend to score the 3rd highest(around 1.5k-2k). While they tend to attack the enemy base with the BOMBER, the low bomb count + reduced skill damage on base tends to kick the score below the bomber's.
  • SHOOTERS(Defence) tends to score the lowest (around 900-1.4k). SHOOTERS tend to defend the base with the BLOCKER. Since they aren't attacking the enemy base + aren't generating any blocks, they don't really have a good way of racking up score. Kills give barely any score, unfortunately.

Score details:

  • 敵撃破(Enemies defeated)
  • マップ破壊(Map/Structure Destruction)
  • スキルテクニック(Skill/Technique) <- Points from Block generation show up here
  • ペナルティ(Penalty) ie: Friendly fire
  • 撃破された(Defeated) -100 every time you die

RANKED BATTLE ONLY: You will gain or lose rank points depending on the results of the match.
